OK, Just my .02 worth....
I like the looks of the new site. I like the posting options, with multiple catagories and the lil animated smilies! I like NO SPAM and not much advertising.
With the old. I like that on one screen you see the most recent posts. I also liked the fact that, because we were all members of Yahoo, we could do group chats. I am thinking back, and believe it or not, they happened quite a bit. I liked the ability to post and change the site picture. I didnt like the ads, but they were not too bad. Youo get a bit more spam, but with everyone as an administrator, they cleaned up quick.
I voted to move back... NOT BECAUSE I DO NOT APPRECIATE ALL THE WORK THAT WENT INTO THIS SITE!!! I do... its great. It just seems like when we move away from Yahoo, things drop off and die. We tried it a few times now. Not sure why it happens.
Either way, I will be a member!!

I like the older site for the typical traffic on this site. It's was almost more of a chat format. But cooler for the typical random bullshit. This site is easier to navigate on and is more like the typical forum. It really doesn't matter to me, I'll talk shit every chance I get ;-)

For those that arnt also on the old site this is kinda germane to this subject. Dont really know why we're posting there unless we are going back lol. Anyway in Yahoo fashion the newest post is on the top ..............................................
Chris, post a ride up over there. I'm about the only one that posts up wanting to ride. The reason I start Sunday ones at my house, is because I work Saturday night so I get a hour of sleep, otherwise I cant make an early start time. I've been over to Trailers a few times, just showing up, sometimes hes been there sometimes not. I've been over to ride with Rick a number of times as well, although those were posted on the PNW site, of course those were all mon or tues. There are a number of Sutherlin, Roseburg, even Cottage Grove, Eugene types that are on the site. They would probably welcome a start over there. I would go over as well, if I can make it. If you dont post a ride, how is anyone to know you want to ride? As far as my friends, Charlie was the only guy I knew before starting the site (and we were more aquaintances then than friends). Everyone else has become my friends thru riding and the site. Its not the number of cops, its the speed. Basic rule 55 down tight Lampa Mt I'm not the far above that. North Bank is like 90 mph.

The only way I know of to have this forum let users know someone posted a ride is to post only in one thread and have everyone subscribe to that thread so they get notified when someone post. I can look into updates for this one to make it more yahoo like if you wish or you guys can just go back to the old one? I like this site although I haven't posted on in awhile and don't get many chances to ride atm. It don't really matter there is no reason we can't use both.

Email notification can be done through our bookmarking system. To set this up, click the profile button, then press the 'Bookmarks' link on the next page. Next, click the link for "Click here to manage your bookmarks preferences.", and on the next page you'll see the following: "By default, when you bookmark a thread, what type of notification would you like to receive when a new post is made in that thread?" -- set this to 'Email' and then press the 'update bookmarks and preferences' button.
With that set, you can then press the bookmark button in any thread, and will receive an email notification when a new reply comes in.
All we would need to do is use one thread for rides everyone could bookmark it. when it gets more then one page just delete the old post and you can even change the subject as long as its the same thread. Easy.

I know that I dont ride much, with landscaping you work when the sun shines and people call. I have a 2 year old and like to be home also. For me I dont have the money or time to do track days or even really want too. I can say that I have been a member for almost ten years and though I am around little and post little I have always been welcome at any ride and am immediately accepted as if I was just seen yesterday, even if it has been a year. I appreciate the core people and their enthusiasm for riding and I think it is awesome how I can ride with a group of guys that will wait for those of us that take our time, dont raze you for not showing all the time and stop and talk to you when they see you around town. I love any chance I get to ride with you and will continue to no matter what site we are on. I for one appreciate the work and effort that was put into this site and believe we should remain here. - north bank troll

I miss not having all posts coming to my email. I just don't take the time to log into the site & check what's happening on a regular basis. I tried the bookmarking, but I wasn't so good at keeping it up with each new thread. But I'll still stalk y'all where ever you go.
